The Armour of God

“Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.”
Ephesians 6:11 (NIV)
The Christian life is not a holiday — it is a battle. Paul does not mince words: we have an enemy, and he has schemes. But God has not left us defenceless. He has given us armour — truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. Notice that Paul says put on the full armour. Partial protection leaves gaps. A soldier who wears a helmet but forgets his shield is still vulnerable. God calls us to be fully equipped — not in our own strength, but in His. The armour is not something we manufacture. It is something we receive. Truth is His truth. Righteousness is His righteousness. Salvation is His gift. We simply put on what He has already provided. Today, dress yourself in the armour of God. Stand firm. The battle is real, but the victory is already won.
Prayer
Lord, I put on Your full armour today. Gird me with truth, cover me with righteousness, and give me the shield of faith to extinguish every flaming arrow. I take up the sword of Your Word and stand firm in the victory Christ has already won. I will not be moved. In Jesus' name, Amen.
